Providing media training, especially helping academics to tell their story, is one area where I can share my experience of life behind the mic.

From medical breakthroughs during my time as a Health Correspondent to highlighting examples where people have overcome adversity to ultimately be successful (more later!), it’s great to hear someone take in ideas of how best to share their expertise.

Recent work at a premier northern university with former BBC colleagues has led to more commissions which I;m looking forward to.

And the reason for the headline for this piece? They were just some of the areas academics at the last session were specialists in.
